Get your elementary grade readers up to speed on phonics with Explode The Code Books! Based on the Orton-Gillingham approach, this multisensory “code-centric program” provides direct, systematic lessons that teach students how to read/write/speak various words, phrases, sentences, and stories all on their own.

Explode The Code Book 2 introduces students to the sounds of initial consonant blends (bl, cl, fl, gl, sk, sl, pl, cr, dr, gr, br, fr, pr, tr, sm, sn, sp, st, sw, tw) and final consonant blends (mp, sk, st, fr, lt, nt, lf, lp, nd, nk). Through pen-to-paper exercises (which begin with blending l blends and progress through to ending blends), students will get to practice blending sounds to read and write one-syllable words.

Softcover phonics workbook is recommended for Grades 1 to 4 (with included accommodations for English Language Learners and struggling readers). Enjoy the full Explode The Code Book series as desired (available in Books 1 to 6, each also with a 1/2 number for additional practice, and Books 7 and 8; each sold separately).
